Has Anyone Heard of..

a student getting their college decision rescinded due to poor senior year grades? I hear teachers tell me that his happens all the time but I don't know of anyone personally. How likely is this to happen to somebody. Anyone know of any kids that ED'd Wake and got their decisions rescinded?

i have heard of it happen but it is not common.

you would have to get like 3-4 Cs or get an F for it to happen because of grades.

They say on the decision that the grades they accepted you with are the grades they expect you to maintain, so really they could revoke the application if they are any lower, however I doubt a bunch of B's is going to keep you out. The only case I heard was a kid who got into UNC-CH, perfect SAT and everything, but he failed a bunch of classes. As long as you don't get a lot of C's I wouldn't worry.

Now I'm getting a little scared because some of my grades dropped. I just have to pass my exams next week then I should be okay at least I hope. I would hate to have my acceptance taken away. That would be terrible.

Do they care about your grades for the term or for the year? Like if I got straight C's for fourth term but still got all A's and B's for the year, would anyone care?

It probably wouldn't look GOOD to get C's at the end of the year, alls they say is that they look at the final transcript.

What they tell you to do is that if you plan on getting a D or F to notify the adcom. They generally work with you. If your grades took extreme drops as in straight As to straight Fs that would probably be grounds for rescinding an admission. I know of at least three people from my high school who had their admission rescinded from their schools and had to go to junior college for two years and then apply for their admission again. They read the letters to us when I was in high school. It is definitely a horrible thing to have happen.

So if we are in danger of doing badly in one class should we notify them? Is that grounds for rescindence?
