anyone here changed major REALLY REALLY late? like 90+ credits...if so from what to what, and was it easy? did you have to file a petition? what university?

I imagine you’d simply have to take an extra year or two of courses, depending on how far the major is from your originally intended major.

I have two different family members who have done this more than once, and let’s just say they were in school for quite some time to just earn their bachelor’s…

I think I had 70 credits when I switched majors, which has cost me an extra two years and then another two on top of that because I decided I wanted to double major in engineering without ever having taken a math or science class pass the most elementary level.
I switched from Magazine Journalism and Marketing to Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering.

Not the best decisions of my life.
I didn’t have to file a petition or anything, I just filled out the forms to switch majors and that was it.

is that 8 years total?

Unfortunately, yes. I’m taking summer classes like it’s a part-time job, so hopefully I can shave a semester or two off before then

yes, I changed my major when I was a 5th year senior from biology to information systems.

I had to fight and petition like crazy to get it approved but if you are persistent and talk to the right people, it will happen. It also helped that I stopped taking biology classes after my junior year and I was closer to completing the other major.
