Picked the easier one, Harvey.
Iām trying to get my D to apply to Grewcock, Caldwell, and the Harvey, but she has scholarship application fatigue. It doesnāt help that there is a problem with her trailhead account and she is tired of emailing admissions and IT about it.
Agree, my D had same issue to set up account
Is anyone tired of writing essays? Tomorrow is the due day for the two best scholarships Mines offers.
My D is definitely tired of writing essays. Iām planning to try to get her to write the Mines essays tomorrow, but Iām pretty sure she wonāt do it. Tough year.
Many kids do not easily understand how much that essay could worth!
Yeah, and I like her to keep her options open. These Mines scholarships offer money, but they also offer a lot of nice perks.
She went to Mines for a recruiting visit, loved the athletic team, but never warmed up to the school.
My child applied for admission on January 1, 2021. Does anyone know whether anyone who applied on or after that date has been admitted? We still have not heard either way. Thanks.
Nothing hereā¦
My son received an acceptance email today. He applied on November 16, 2020. We missed the early group by one day. We live in Pennsylvania.
Does Mines negotiate merit or other forms of non-need based aid? For example, an offer from a ābetterā engineering and CS school?
Anything is possible and it doesnāt hurt to ask, but Iāve never heard of anyone successfully negotiating more merit aid at Mines.
Thank you! I love the location of Mines and the size, but got nearly double the merit from Georgia Tech Provost.
Admitted. 14K OOS Merit.
congrats!!!
on a separate note, I cannot attend CO Mines most likely because I got in state at CP SLO.
Congratulations!
SLO is a great place to hang out for 4 years and get a great education, but Iām sure you will be missed at Mines.
My older daughter is a senior in EE at CP SLO and her sister will (probably) be attending Mines this fall. The situation with in state is reversed but I donāt think there is a bad option there.
My D has denied/withdrawn the admission and good luck to whoever on the waitlist.
My son decided to enroll UCSD for computer science. Itās our local University. We all liked Mines, but we couldnāt come up with money and scholarships. I wish all the best of luck.
