We will acknowledge the receipt of your application via e-mail AND via letter as soon as possible after we receive it.

Please remember that we receive A LOT of mail (both snail mail AND electronic mail) right around the application deadlines, and it can take us a while to process all of our applications. Plus, remember that we don’t usually receive your application the day after you mail it, and it even takes us a while to go through the online applications we receive before they can be entered into our computer system.

Having said that, if you apply for Early Decision and have not heard from us by November 15th, you should call the office (212) 998-4500 to check. If you apply Regular Decision and haven’t heard from us by February 1st, you should call to check.

I received an email on the 13th, I submitted the app on the 31st.

I would definitely give a call to the admissions office, it should not be taking this long for you to get an email.

i called and the admissions office wouldn’t tell me ANYTHING. they said they weren’t telling people the status of their application, and that i just had to wait…

I submitted mine Jan 30, and it was downloaded Jan 31.

I’m calling on Tuesday anyway. On the admissions website it says:

“Receiving Your Application
We will send you both an e-mail and a written acknowledgement shortly after we receive your application. If you do not receive an acknowledgement by November 10, 2009 (January Applicants) or by January 20, 2010 (April 15, 2010 for transfer applicants) that your application has been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, you should contact us. (Please remember to allow for mailing and processing time!)”

“I submitted mine Jan 30, and it was downloaded Jan 31.” what? dont you mean december?

hey guys, i was just googling this myself. i applied about 3 hours before the deadline (east coast) on the 31st. I got the common app emails but have yet to get one from NYU themselves. I think that I will call Tuesday. If all of us have submitted our stuff, then I’m sure they are just pretty back up, so hopefully we will all find out soon!

I submitted my Embark app literally minutes before the deadline and received confirmation of submission (but not of all credentials accounted for) from NYU via email on the 11th.

Haven’t received anything by maill yet.

Yes, I meant December.

Okay, this is weird. I just called admissions and the guy I spoke with that if you haven’t yet received an e-mail, most likely they have your application (he added in there "most definitely).

I’m going to call again tomorrow because that’s not very reassuring.

I just got the email today. Honestly, I would wait a few days before calling them. I’m sure they’re still busy processing.

I submitted by supplement during Christmas.

Got my verification email on the 11th and just today, got postal mail about confirming my information.

I called back afterward and spoke with someone else and she did say call back the first week of Feb if I haven’t received an e-mail because they aren’t done processing. I was just going by what they said on their website. At least I know directly from the source now.

I haven’t received anything either. Can they hurry up so I can just RELAX!!!

I just thought about this. I applied with a fee waiver request. Do you think this is why I have not received an e-mail yet?

i finally got an email today. i submitted mine 5 minutes after the deadline. im sure everyones is coming soon

I just got an email as well. I applied on the day of the deadline.

@ Tothesky and iz1212

Were your emails just confirming submission or confirming that all your stuff was turned in as well?

Am I like the only person on here that hasn’t gotten an e-mail yet?
I’m freaking out
