i haven’t gotten a refund from my bank, or seen any changes under refund activity, either :/

“Through BruinDirect, aid remaining after fees have been paid will be deposited in your bank account by **September 16-17, 2010/b. If you do not have BruinDirect, your refund check will be mailed. Since refund checks are mailed at least two days after BruinDirect deposits are made, BruinDirect is always the fastest method to access your financial aid refund.”

my balance due now is $0.00 :)

hey im really confused please help! =)
my account now has a negative number for the student accounts, so do i just click submit? how do i pay for housing? like, can i use the money left over (negative number) to pay for housing or do i just pay and get my refund later?
thanks a ton!!

wow so if we have a negative amount we do not pay anything but will get money back?? is there anything left to do?

we still need to pay for housing, but the housing website doesn’t even tell you how much it is. It just says to enter your own amount to pay for. I’m confused. Does anyone know?

[2010-2011 Contract Housing Rates and Payment Plans (1004377)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/go/1004377)
Click on your housing arrangement and then find your payment plan/meal arrangement on the next chart. It should tell you when and how much all payments you have to make will be.

My balance was $0 yesterday but changed to $280 today. That’s weird because I should be receiving money from finaid. Anyone else?

mine is -310, so do i get i check for that in the next couple weeks ince i didnt sign up for bruindirect?

Same question as others…if I have a negative amount, do I have to do anything…? Everything is taken care of, right?

^ yep. it means it’s a refund and it’'ll disperse into you bruindirect or sent via check.

anyone know if we’re supposed to be getting an email before our funds are dispersed into our bank account? i would keep checking my account online constantly except my bank, Chase, website is down.

yes, the school will email us

yeah i just got an email notification this morning saying they would deposit the remaining aid to my bank account within the next 3 days

so for housing payments, if we’re using financial aid to pay for it, does ucla directly transfer the aid towards my housing account or do we pay it off using the refund that we got? (btw haven’t gotten my refund yet either)

once they transfer it to your bank use your debit card number to pay for housing online i think

just got my financial aid this morning, yipeeee!

^i just got mine too at the same time i got my email haha : )

I just realized something…
I got about $5500 in DIRECT SUBSIDIZED LOAN
Now UCLA is only refunding me $1,669.34
Does that mean they took all of my loan money and used it to pay off tuition!?
Or will they be giving me my loan money completely separate.
I thought my financial aid was going to cover most of it and now it appears that they took about $4500 of my loan money…

Does someone know if the loan money will be dispersed separately?

Assuming you’re a transfer student, it should be

$5500 Loan/3 Quarters= $1833 per quarter.

It sounds like you took out

$3500 Loan/3 Quarters= $1166 per quarter, or they made a mistake in disbursement.
