Hey all, as I enter my senior year of high school, I am continuing to apply myself with challenging AP/Honors courses.

As my courses for my senior year are being finalized, I am contemplating taking the course " AP US Government" in my senior year.

For those who have taken it, what are your thoughts of the class? I am aware that there is a workload involved, including a heavy dose of outlining and research.

As of now, my one challenging class is AP English Literature ( great class, but one of the top two hardest classes in what is a competitive school I am in). I am enrolled in AP Statistics, which is easy based on how its taught in my class, along with German 3 Honors.

This class would be my 7th major, and I just want to see if it would be worth considering it.

Thanks!

I took AP gov this year and at my school they combine American gov and comparative into a full year class. I have a solid A every marking period and the work load is not much and it’s fairly easy alot easier then APUSH.

Yeah, that was my concern. Wasnt too sure if it was as difficult as APUSH or not.

in comparison to APUSH, it is much easier, but obviously still has its own set of difficulties. if you did well with APUSH and other AP classes regarding concepts and how the action of one thing will affect another, AP gov should be a breeze. there’s a good amount of reading (nothing like APUSH), but the catch is (at least for my school) it’s easy to slack off. If you do however, expect a B+ tops, but that may be just for the curriculum at my school. it basically all depends on what is your cup of tea: do thrive with the abstract (AP lang, lit) or the concrete (ap calc ap stats) or somewhere in between? hope this helps be sure to respond if you have any other questions regarding the class i’m in it right not and i absolutely love it
