So, the first week of session D is over. And we broke into groups (ugh) and made posters. Posters. It's like middle school all over again. Is the entire class like this? Andrews is teaching. There's like 100+ pages of reading per week...I don't even know if we're supposed to read it all. Seriously regretting picking this class.

HAHAHAHA. Even when i was in middle school i hated things like posters and ****. ive heard its easy in the fall and you dont have to go to lecture (since there are asuc notes).

is the drop deadline passed for session D?

Well, today is the deadline to withdraw or drop for a refund. This is the only class I’m taking over the summer (breadth), and having a “withdrew via petition” notation on my transcript sounds scary, so I think I’ll stick it out. YAY POSTERS! Some people are even getting all artsy fartsy with them. You know, using curly letters and drawing cute little leaves and worms next to “soil supports life!”

Don’t drop it! I took this class last year and it was a pretty relaxing/interesting course. The workload isn’t too bad either. And no, the entire class is not just about making posters… its more like an introduction of what you will cover the future weeks.

If prof Andrews (he’s super nice and chill btw) is assigning the same reading, then it shouldn’t be too overwhelming. These are easy-to-read books and are somewhat interesting.

A Majority of the grading is on the presentations/midterm. I believed there wasn’t even a final for those who had high enough grades.

Do the quizzes get any easier? I did pretty poorly on the first quiz…I got the impression that most people thought it was kind of nit-picky.

Quizzes? We didn’t have any…

“Some people are even getting all artsy fartsy with them. You know, using curly letters and drawing cute little leaves and worms next to “soil supports life!””

This made my day. Thanks for the good laugh.

How did this class turn out in the end? Taking it this summer as well to meet 6 units for financial aid. Most reviews have not been positive…
