Has anyone taken HUM 5 at a CC? (i go to UCSD, obviously)

Hey guys, in taking the equivalent of Hum 5 at a CC, my question was if it counts for a grade or just the units?
some friends have told me the grade will factor in my GPA, while others tell me only the units will transfer, nothing else,

any clarifications!? :confused:

Edit: If my understanding is correct, though, it will count for units only at UCSD, and grades overall (e.g. when grad schools look at your transcripts).
