I accumulated enough credits to send scores to up to four colleges for free. But those credits will expire if I don't use them by June 16.

Since I'm a junior, I thought it'd be kinda weird to send my scores NOW, months before my actual application comes through. Do colleges think it's weird?

And also I took a subject test today and I'm waiting on that score, which will come after my credits expire.

Yeah, welcome to the Collegeboard.

If you know what schools you are going to apply to, and feel confident you did well on your subject test today, then you can send your scores to 4 schools for free. It will save you somewhere in the neighborhood of $45. The only catch is that you will have to send the scores from today sight unseen, and just trust that they are good enough. Accordingly, most people recommend using the free score sends for safety schools, (or in your case, a school that says it doesn’t consider any subject tests submitted), so even if the score comes back lower than you were expecting, you don’t have to show it to your reach school, and it should still be enough if the school is a true safety.

I also took subject tests today, but will probably not use my free score reports, as I think I did rather poorly on one. If your family can afford it, don’t feel too bad letting them expire, it’s a bit of a scam by the collegeboard, in my opinion at least.

We used them because we feel most schools will want to know ANY and ALL scores, and they CAN see how many times one took the exams. So we felt it was ok to send them. We feel if you show a school one score only, but took the exam 2-3 times, they will want to know why you are hiding the other scores?
I do also believe it shows interest in a school and it starts a file at the admissions office somehow. So yes, my daughter sent hers blind to 5 schools, actually all but her safety. She is hoping to apply early decision to one of the 5 we sent her scores to, she is not 100% sure which one it will be as of yet. If she is accepted ED then the game is over, if not she can then spend the $$$ and send them to her safety schools as well. I believe we call them safety because there is almost no chance of being denied.
I amy be wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion. And wouldn’t sending them blind kinda let the college know that the person applying is confident and self assured? JMHO
MY DD sent her SAT and Subject tests blind to 5 schools. They will know her scores sooner or later anyway.
