Good news from the ChandlerBing front: my application has been submitted to the admissions office for review!
Finally, haha

me too! As my mother has always and will continue to have to tell me, patience is a virtue.

ahhhh this is so nerve racking! we have about a month before we find out!

I'm counting down...

has anybody who took sat II's in nov had their app recieved for consideration already?

i did the sat 2's for the first time in nov, and i have everything checked off. does that mean they're going to wait until they receive the scores?

@graciek: so am i and my friends think im crazy hah

ivy_go: I don't think there is anything it can do. I am still waiting either.

I think mine is kinda slow because my transcript envelope has many parts. It has the actual transcript, a note from my counselor, and IB predicted grades. It'll probably waste some admission officers' calories.

My transcript and school reports haven't been "received" either. It has been over two weeks since my school sent them out. Hopefully it appears on my profile tomorrow or sometime early next week. If it's not in by the end of next week I'll probably make some phone calls.

zooxanthellae: I heard they'll contact us on the 15th or something. I think I'll resend my transcript on Monday if it has not been received.

A month and a day until Cornell decisions come out, people.
A month and a day of TORTURE.
End of rant.
:)

Still not received for me, when they were sent out early October. I tried giving them a call yesterday but just get the same damn message, 1 to 2 week delay.

I know there may be a 1 to 2 week delay, but I sent mine in over 4 weeks ago. Does that extension posted earlier work, or how else should I call to actually talk to someone?

It's okay we're in the same boat. Cornell says that it's having a huge pile of mail to process/scan into the system. After ALL THE MAIL ARE PROCESSED, it will send out email to those who are missing stuff. I wouldn't worry too much.

mike4192: I was pretty confused by that too, you get that message if you press the extension for "to check your application status".
If you want to talk to someone who can manually check your file to see what you have, just press the extension for "to speak with an admissions representative".
You don't actually speak to an adcom, you speak with an employee of admissions who answers phones, and it was pretty helpful for me.
Good luck!

It finally appeared today that Cornell has received both!

wow mine's all in too!!!

they are finally in!

anxious, anxious, they haven received mine, i am from malaysia and i sent everything one week ago, i used the courier service which took three days to reach to ithaca, so that means arrived ard 5 days ago, i used the tracking thingy and it said "delivered" , but then yesterday i received the mail from Cornell saying they had not got my application materical, and that i have to send things to them within ten days. omg, i replied them and explained everythign, and they said wait two more days to refresh the system. omg, omg, anyone of you encouter the same problem??

Me too. I sent mine 3 weeks ago, and on my Canada Post tracking webpage it says "Cornell has received your mail." I have to resend it now. Cornell = slowmo + forgetful + careless XD. I told my IB coordinator to resend predicted grade + transcript, and he got so angry. "Stupid American universities! They should have figured out a method to deal with these application materials by now. Every year my students tell me American universities are losing tons of their stuff," he complained angrily.

And to be honest, I am absolutely not impressed with Cornell right now. I sent in my application on September 14th, and received my Applicant ID on October 10th. I am spending another $6 to send in my transcript and stuff through the highest priority mail, which will arrive at Cornell the day after tomorrow (Thursday).

I certainly have done my part responsibly and well before due date. Cornell has not.

cherry: if you sent everythinga week ago...that's not before the postmark deadline.

i think the deadline of 1st nov for ED is only applicable to the main application (ie. the common app) while other supporting documents, such as the high school transcripts, teacher evaluation, can come in after the deadline. am i right??
