Important: Why Things Missing on Self-Service

As many of you may have noticed, many of us are experiencing missing items on our self-service account. Whether it be transcripts or teacher recs, many people have something missing. I called the admissions office today, and they said they have a huge amount of unopened envelopes and they are experiencing a very big applicant pool for ED. Therefore, the Nov 11 date has been extended to Nov 15. They now say check back after Nov 15 for updated info. They prob have your things anyway but just havent put it into the system.

Whew. I was getting really worried because they haven't confirmed the receipt of my application.

thanx for the info!!

Enormously large ED pool isn't good.

haha. maybe it's just the amount of paper ppl are sending in. not the actually ED pool. postive thinking here!!

"I called the admissions office today, and they said they have a huge amount of unopened envelopes and they are experiencing a very big applicant pool for ED"

A VERY BIG APPLICANT POOL FOR ED.

lol. okay um... don't think about it that way. not everyone is ur competition though. cuz we're all applying to different things. positive thinking!!!

They uPDATED MINE! MY SCHOOL REPORT AND TRANSCRIPT ARE IN!

"Enormously large ED pool isn't good."

wordddd :(

the only things they have "recieved" is my application and supplement :-/ ...and my guidance counsler sent my transcript and school report over a month ago

yeah-- they just logged my cornell supplement (yay.)

people still missing recs / transcript like me?

(p.s. there might not even be that big an applicant pool, maybe they're just slow this year. or something. or people are sending in all their stuff in different envelopes, like me...)

It could also be a bunch of RD applications that people just sent early...a big ED pool definitely isn't good since they seem pretty firm on taking no more than 30% of each class from ED applicants.

oy vey. this is getting depressing. let's try some positive thinking guys. how about like wish we all get into our #1 schools?

positive! AHH! :)

lol. it's hard for me too, but i'm working on it.

This is important cus ppl keep asking the same question! Again:

If materials are missing TOMORROW, NOVEMBER 14th, by the EVENING, CALL the admissions office on Tuesday, November 15th.

Cornell updated the date to Friday, November 18th.

If materials are missing on Friday, November 18th, by the EVENING, CALL the admissions office on Monday, November 21st immediately because things should definitely be in order by then.

wow, i think i'm the only one who has all of my stuff checked off on the online status thing.. and i submitted my application the sunday before it was due.

interesting. i wonder what they consider "very large" for ed pool? possibly 2500+? Crazy...
