So I applied to all my rolling admissions schools about 2 weeks ago. The other day, I got a letter back from one of them. It says that after reviewing my application, they will need additional information. It says that I'm supposed to have my high school forward my transcript at the end of the first semester, which isn't until January. I've never heard of this happening to anyone before. Has this happened to anyone here, or has anyone heard of it happening to someone? Thanks in advance.

Um... every college I applied to wanted my high school transcript.

No kidding. I already sent them my transcript. What I'm saying is that instead of giving me a decision on my admission after viewing my transcript, test scores, etc, they want to see what grades I get after the first semester of my senior year.

Yeah, there have been some schools that told me that even though they accepted me they might withdraw me if I slack off senior year.

One reason they could ask is that something they see in your transcript raises a question so that they want to see your first semester senior grades. Could be your grades, your course load, a lack of consistency, who knows. You could always give the school a call and ask. Most admissions offices are pretty candid about these things.

You still don't get it. They didn't accept me, but they didn't deny me. They told me they aren't going to make a decision on my admissibility until the receive my grades for the current semester. Do you get it now?

BTW, this was towards Linzoy.

I got it before, but I don't think there's a huge difference between delaying the decision and making the decision but threatening to withdraw it.

Anyone else want to shed some light?

its simple, they are not willing to admit you based on your transcript upto Junior year, and need to see another marking period. Just as Michael says above.^^ Doesn't hurt to call them, as speculating here does no good.

It happened to my son on an EA school, and obviouly he didn't cut it in the EA applicant pool, and the school wanted to wait for more grades.

make sure you do good this semester. they might just be checking for consistency.
