I recently had a series of dreams this past week that involved a boy that I know - I don't talk to him, aside from maybe the occasional "excuse me" or "where do we pass in the homework?" I also never really regarded him as attractive, he isn't ugly, but he isn't a knock out either...

however... in these dreams, I am with the boy and we're either holding hands or cuddling as well as other things which aren't exactly family friendly and need not be posted here... and now I can't stop thinking about him.

My subconscious has basically forced me into a crush that I had absolutely no intention of having. I know most crushes are unintentional but before the dreams, I basically had no interest in him, whatsoever. I was wondering if this was normal.

It probably happens to some people but whether or not dreams hold actual subconscious meeting is very much a Freudian thing (I think? sorry if I’m wrong lol) and is still up for debate.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it though, as long as you don’t put yourself into a bad relationship or situation.

There’re qualities to an individual that some people are drawn to for no logical reason… I mean; if you’re having lucid dreams, that means you’re choosing to dream about it. I don’t see a correlation between dreaming and your realistic relationship but it could mean something special :)

It hasn’t happened to me before though…

P.S. Sorry if this thread only pertains to girls…

You’re a teenager with turbulent hormones, yeah it’s normal. You can psychoanalyze it all you want, but it’s very possible your brain just picked a guy at random from the large bank of faces you’ve seen throughout your life. I had a dream once about a girl I never talk to who I’m not at all interested in and it was weird but I shrugged it off, and within a day I forgot about it.

Actually, after a few of the dreams, I had somewhat of a conversation with him which was weird because I’ve had classes with him for three years and this was actually the first time we talked… lol.

That happened to me once…except we weren’t just holding hands at school, we were holding hands as we waited to get processed at Ellis Island in 1904, after we had emigrated from Poland. History nerd “crush”…or maybe I just have problems.

But yeah, every single face that has appeared in our dreams has been seen by us before, so like someone above said, your brain probably just picked a face at random.

@oonawong238 - I had a dream back in 9th grade about my crush and we were speaking Latin, and he started reciting Cicero… so I can sympathize, LOL.

I feel like this has happened to me, but I can’t think of any specific examples.

I always try to read things in my dreams, books and menus and stuff. If I found some great poetry and memorized it, I could be a writer without doing any work. I want to be able to plagiarize from my subconscious.
But I can never make out what anything says.

I’ve had dreams about Obama like that but I don’t want to date him… if you don’t think it would work out just ignore it.
Otherwise, I have way too much information stored in my head about dream analysis and I’d be happy to help X)
