I'm in a suite in haskell next year. I've heard the dorm is old and a bit run down, but very social. Anybody care to comment or have any additional info?

theres tons of information in the haskell fb group – what floor are you on? (im in haskell too)

Haha I’m not sure I want to say considering how everybody on here feels about me.

I win! I think.

^huh?

I want to win too :)

Wait you’re not who i think you are?!

Check your pm’zz

I used to live there last year! I loved it. Who cares if it’s like you’re living in a brick oven, you’re in a suite! So essentially, you don’t have just 1 other roommate, you have 9 more. It’s really what you make of it. Here’s some things you should know–

1) If you’re living in the first floor suites (particularly the 140s), beware of bugs.
2) Haskell lounge just got a nice flatscreen tv last year! Feel free to hold some movie nights with your friends down there.
3) The kitchen in Haskell is actually pretty nice compared to kitchens in a lot of other dorms. So if you’re wondering what to bring to hall snacks, consider making some fresh baked goods!
4) All the top floor suites don’t have an RA (well at least, last year it was like that), so you can get away with a lot more up there (like not getting in trouble for being loud after hours, and, um, other things)…but beware that RAs frequently make rounds to all suites.
5) Decorate your common rooms! They belong to you and your suitemates, so why not make it feel more home-y? Just make sure you follow all those stupid fire code guidelines or else the RD will be on your backs.
6) Don’t be surprised if you get lost in Haskell for the first couple of days…the way the suites are set up is really confusing. For example, in the 10s/20s side of Haskell, the 210s are above the 220s, the 310s are above the 320s, and the 410s are above the 420s. Yea, I know, weird.

I’m in Haskell too! :)

And kjcastillo was my host’s roommate during prefrosh weekend. Small world, right?

Awesome. Just plain awesome.

I am def gonna get lost the first couple weeks.

Haha, it sure is, neethus1! My prefrosh loved being at Tufts and I was 99.9% sure she was coming this fall, but then she got caught up in the allures of Brown University when she got accepted off the waitlist… le sigh

I think the people you end up living with will make or break your experience in Haskell. Most likely, you will have a good experience.

hahahhaha nice.
