Hass & EECS

Hi I am an international student. My question is - If I get admitted to EECS program at berkeley , can I also take a major from Hass School of business and get a dual degree?

Thank you.

bump bump bump

In theory, yes. But you are probably looking at about 150 units of courses just to complete the requirements of both (compare to the usual 120 units of courses to graduate). Over 8 semesters, that would be almost 19 units per semester. Of course, you also have to apply into a competitive admission process to add the business major.

But why would you want to do that?

It’s possible! I know someone who is doubling in EECS and Business Administration (Haas’s only major)…and he is taking language classes…but he crams in 6-7 classes a semester…so there are some people on campus that do it. However, you still have to apply to get into the Haas major in your sophomore year (and there is still the chance you may not get in) and it is probably very stressful if you can’t manage all the classes.

You may want to worry about getting in first… then asking this question later. But the answer to any question of the kind “can I do X and Y” is usually a yes - the real question is “are you willing to do it?”.

Also, Berkeley admission doesn’t like your username.
