Have a Bad Prof Winter Term

I just got my schedule for January (way in advance, I know) but the Prof I have for my Spanish class scares the crap out of me and from what I heard is just terrible (I had her briefly once before.) I loved Spanish in high school, it was the highlight of my day and I so badly want to continue with it, but I don't want this prof to wreak havoc on my GPA, and sadly she's the only instructor for this course.
So, as you may have guessed, I'm at a crossroad and don't know what to do, I love Spanish, and I want to continue with it but I haven't heard anything positive about her and on a personal level she terrifies me. Which is not an easy thing to do.
What do you guys think I should do? I'm at a total loss :(

Take it next summer at another school?

School is too short to spend with a teacher you know won’t help you.

If you only have one bad professor a year, consider yourself lucky.

Hmm. That is tricky. Very recently, I dropped my Calculus course because they professor was ridiculous. I had taken Calculus in high school, and I’m fairly good at it, but i too was worried about my GPA. However, I have other professors to choose from, so it looks like you might have to tough it out and go with her. Maybe you could drop one of your harder classes so you can focus on Spanish? That’s may seem weird, but if it gets you to following your dream, then it might be worth it.
