Have a question, does anyone know the answer?

Hey,

This doesn't have anything to do about my chances but i was wondering if i could get a much needed answer to a question that i have. Anyways, my counselor sent out his part my application (i.e. the high school transcripts, recs, counselor eval) on November 27, 2004 to Wesleyan and Northwestern. Up till now, however, i have checked my application status on their websites, and they say they have not recieved any of this stuff. By the way, I'm an international applicant, so this stuff takes a while to get to the US. Anyways, I told my counselor-we checked the mail tracking records, and they said the package had arrived and been signed for; he told me to call the universities and follow up on this stuff. I ended up callin NW, but the only response I got was to wait till the end of the month-i figured id get the same response if i called Wesleyan. It is practically the end of the month, yet I still see a list of things that have not been "recieved." Does anyone have some advice on what to do? thanks....

First, I'd wait to the literal end of the month before worrying--some of these schools really like to ride the deadlines (much like a lot of students I know, heh). Plus, their input system for their website could be human-input as opposed to automatic, meaning that they have received your stuff, but just haven't recorded it as having been received. In other words, don't worry quite yet.

If the month expires without a word, then by all means, get on the phone and be persistent. Oftentimes the only way to resolve these kinds of things is to talk to a real person affiliated with the school. At the very least, they might be able to make you feel better.
