<p>hmm, the copy I ordered just came in the mail. I heard it was good but I'm kind of nervous about using a book that's about as old as I am.</p>
<p>I'm a mom, and I bought this for my daughter. She likes it a lot. I'm reading it also. It's really funny, and it has real-world information. I agree with those who said that it's helpful with all types of writing, not just college essays. But because my daughter is applying this year, I can't say whether it "works" or not!</p>
<p>Still, for the time you invest reading it, what do you have to lose?</p>
<p>And as far as being nervous that the book may be out of date: Good writing is good writing. It doesn't change much from year to year.</p>
