Hey guys, got orientation in the AM, was wondering from those who had orientation on the 30th, what time is best to get there? Also, where can I get a course catalog to assess which classes I need to take for the upcoming Fall? Don't want to get stuck with lame teachers and lame classes- if anyone could shoot me in the right direction that'd be great.

course catalog is online, plus they give it to you there.

get there at 11/11:30 and you will be chillin’.

check professor ratings NOW and write down the best ones who teach the classes you wanna take. i don’t know why people say those things don’t matter… i have always used ratings to pick professors, and they have always been accurate assertions.

do you happen to have a link for the course catalog? I cant seem to find it.

[Schedule of Classes Home Page](http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/schedulehome.aspx)

^ course catalogue

yeah… you can get there at 11 - 11:30 and be fine.

from what i saw, most of the classes being offered only have one prof teaching them… so if you want to take any given class, you’re stuck with its corresponding prof, no matter what.

they’ll have a workshop for getting classes… it provides a little clarity, but it’s really nothing that can’t be done on your own.

the one thing you should be really cognizant of is the finals schedule.
each class has a finals code (‘ex’, i think… or ‘ec’)… in the back of your planner (which they’ll hand out), the dates that correspond to the codes are listed. make sure that you finals don’t fall on the same day, and you’ll be fine.
all in all, it took me just under an hour to make my class schedule.

make sure you eat a big breakfast and try to get as much sleep as possible (which is kind of out of the question, if you’re reading this right now…). i was miserably tired / hungry the entire time and it took a lot out of the experience.
also, you can bug your orientation counselor with any questions you might have… mine (matt swanson) was able to answer most of them.

eitan, I was sad I didn’t meet you on Tuesday. buggers. did you meet any of the other people on here? everyone seemed kind of anti-social that day, but perhaps it was the hunger/sleepyness.

Im gonna have to give a shout out to my OC Michael Esgro, who I thought was fantastic. Answered all my questions. Also yes, make sure you eat. Also be aware that while they give you money on your bruincard, they only give you 8 dollars. So be aware cause I thought it was free lunch period so I spent 15 bucks at sbarros. Bastards!

Haha, I spent $11 and then I came back and spent more for fruits and water lol Their cafeteria food was amaaaazing, though! Too bad I had only 30 minutes to stuff my mouth with everything before the meeting with my OC and we also had to climb the stairs afterwards. Make sure you use Study List Help, but do not spend the entire day there. I spent most of my time there/with the OC and I missed some of the important workshops. Does anyone know why everyone is choosing MAZZOCCO, M. over BOARD, S.A. for Econ 11? I heard that BOARD, S.A. is actually better from my friends who took him, but clearly everyone is enrolling for the second professor?!
