Have to Appeal for Financial Aid!?? Other options?

Okay so my spring semester i wasn't doing so well in school and had to drop a few of my classes but failed one because of personal reasons. Therefore I am placed on academic probation for this upcoming fall. I can't get any financial aid unless I appeal i believe? But Im not sure if they would appeal my reasons. My other option was to get a private student loan at a bank but I couldn't even get a private student loan with my parents cosigning because my credit score is low when theirs is very high. Someone told me I could apply for a Direct Student Plus loan which means that my parents would be taking the loan out for me I think? If I don't appeal my financial aid could my parents do the direct student plus loan for me? Please no rude comments. I just need help. I am a student pursuing a degree in the healthcare field and school is very important to me. I just made some mistakes. Thank You

You need to discuss this with YOUR college. You have to find out what you need to do to meet their SAP (satisfactory academic progress) requirement, and what your options are for doing this.

Back when the dinos roamed. A family member had the same situation. He was told he could go to a community college for a term, or two, and if he demonstrated excellent grades, he would be readmitted to his school, with eligibility for federal aid reinstated.

Not sure if the above is even done these days.

The key is finding out what your college requires for meeting SAP…and how you can do this.

If attending this college is not financially feasible without federally funded aid, you may have to reconsider where you are attending college.

There are many schools offering courses of study in the health field…and you are not the first student who has had a poor semester. It will all work out somehow!
