Sap appeal letter ? Please read and let me know.

My name is and I am requesting an appeal to regain my financial aid so I may continue school this fall. This was my first semester in college and I take complete responsibility for my academic performance in the 2012 spring semester. Only if I had properly managed my time I would not have been in this situation.

The reason I had an unsuccessful spring semester was due to the sickness of my sister . Since she had a severe back pain she could no longer drive so I would have to miss days in class and drive her to different hospitals for check ups and medical examinations. I had to take on the responsibilities in my household and that required me to stay back at home and look after my sister because she was on bed rest. My dad was the only person providing bread and butter for the family so he looked upon me to take care of my sister and under those depressing times I couldn’t say no to him. I admit that it was my fault but being my first semester in college I didn’t realize that it would almost be impossible to cope up with the missed work later on.

In addition to dealing with my sister's health, I became very overwhelmed and depressed with the school work that I had accumulated. Instead of dealing with these difficulties in the correct manner, I ran away from them, in a sense, and did not attend some of my classes. I unfortunately had no motivation to succeed during these times. I have some copies of my sister's appointment letters with the doctors. The rest of the reports lie with the doctors. You may feel free to contact any doctor or my sister at .

In order to change the status of my academic standing, I have discussed with family that I will not be disturbed in the fall semester under any circumstances. . My sister by the grace of God is now healthy and on her feet again. I now take my sleep schedule much more seriously so that I have the energy to put forth into my assignments. I set small, attainable goals for myself dealing with my academics so that I do not become overwhelmed. I have also learned that communication with my professors is key. If I have a problem, I will not wait until the last minute to let them know what is going on, I seek help as soon as possible. A few friends also have agreed to help me with my studies. Even these few steps will make a large difference in my self-confidence. Over the summer, I have a full time job and realize how important education is. It is truly an investment. It took a long time to understand but having a job and meeting new people caused me to realize how education is to get further in life. I am fully prepared to work hard. I am determined and confident I will do very well until I have received my degree. A degree is important in attaining a decent career. Education now is and will continue to be my main priority. I will meet with my instructors daily if there is something I do not understand or how I can become a better student in their class. If I am having trouble with coursework in any of my classes, I will contact a tutor immediately. I will visit CAPE regularly for many of my classes. I will attend study groups on campus and study more by myself. I will quit my job before the fall semester starts so that I can focus solely on my academic responsibilities and give myself more time to study.
I am willing to take classes year-round, including each summer. Due to the economic hardships my family has faced and continues to face to this day, I am dependent on financial aid to continue my education, and without it, I cannot attend school. So I am asking you today, to please deem me worthy of a second chance. Please carefully consider reinstating my financial aid, so that I may progress on from those times of hardship towards an honest college education. Thank you for your time.

My opinion…your letter is very wordy. State the facts, and get to the point.

Ohh okay but do I have a chance due to this reason ? . Will they consider that this was my first semester in college ?
