I have now finished all my apps including my essay, but I'm not sure where to apply as ED.
I won't put my entire resume, but I have above average-superb extracurriculars in music, a lot of volunteering/clubs/honors, and I have a pretty good essay and likewise for recs.

Just judging by my sheer numbers, can you guys help me decide where to apply ED? I have to decide by Monday...and YES i do realize my chances at both places are slim, but I really love them both. I fear rejection, but even a "deferred" will satisfy me in december. Remember, these are my REACH schools :o

GPA: 4.0 weighted (100 exactly), i think around 3.65UW? (like a 91ish) rank is n/a
SAT1: Taken twice : 670CR/760M/760W - (2190/1430)
SAT2: Chem: 720, Math level 2: 690, Bio: 660
I am retaking all three SAT2's in 2 weeks and am looking all 700+ for all of them, possible a 780+ for math (i didn't study too much for any of them the first times, just took after my school's chem class, bio class, and precalc)
I am planning to send all three scores after I find out in the middle of november, but I will send my crappy ones right now (or should I not? o_o)

Yes...so I know I'm lacking, but these are my dream schools. money is payable, so just for the sake of ADMISSIONS, let me know which school is better for me to ED in.
(a better chance for me to get in) - either as accepted or deferred-then accepted :o

I went to Cornell for undergrad and JHU for grad school. They are similarly intense schools academically, esp. if you are in the hard sciences or engineering, but Cornell had a subset of jocks and hard partiers that I don’t remember at all from Hopkins (though that may have had something to do with the fact that I was a grad student). In general Cornell seems much larger and more diverse, not just in program offerings but in the kinds of kids it attracts. The biggest difference for me was the setting–Cornell is beautiful, spread out, and pretty rural; Hopkins is compact and urban–and the weather (Hopkins wins this one!) Plenty going on both places; I don’t think you can really go wrong.

Rumor has it that JHU is looking for diversity. They are looking for non-nerds, students who have other things going besides high scores and stats in math/science. If you have a lot of ECs in music, you may have a better chance of getting in JHU.

Your stats are low for both schools. But you may have more to offer JHU, so better chance of getting admitted, especially if you are not going to be pre-med.

My nephew is at JHU, he is an average, smart Joe, and he is very happy at JHU. He has joined a fraternity and doing well there.

My daughter is at Cornell, and she really likes the size.

thanks so much for the responses guys!
and yes, I am actually a Delaware all state-all county-all district percussionist and I was planning to do a minor in music. However, I want to pursue the premedical field, otherwise i wouldn’t apply to these heavy med universities :)

music is a talent given off by my parents (both musicians) and while I want to develop on that and join music-related clubs/ensembles in college, I really desire to be a doctor and a future physician/pediatrician to be more specific ^_^
