i would call the admissions office. they’re generally very very helpful with everything! good luck :)

Accepted!!!

Ach, join our group on Facebook!

For those of you who accepted, when did you turn in your application materials?

umm. according to the website my last things weren’t received until march 23rd, because there was this problem with my high school transcript.

C26, thank you!

Is everyone’s deposit thing working or does it say that it isn’t functioning yet still? Mine says it’s not working, I hope that’s not a bad sign…

Nah, mine isn’t functioning either, theuberaoc, and I’ve received my acceptance package.

Great, thank you!

yeah, same here… mine isn’t working. I sent all application materials around Feb 25. But according to the site, they weren’t downloaded until March 3, I didn’t send FA information until like March 30 though! I was scrambling to get information! I’m really worried about FA…

Are there any transfers for MT that were accepted?

I’M IN!!!

All my stuff was processed by Feb 11, and I just got my letter today.

ha may I ask the medium your acceptance came in??
I mean should I just give the applications cred check website a break?
(congrats!)

ha yeah, mine still doesnt work. i got mine in the regular mail.

I found out I was waitlisted a couple of weeks ago for Media Production. I’m still shocked because I had to send in my 930 SAT score(old standard). You would’ve thought they would reject me.

I was accepted April 15th into WLP!!! SWEET!! !

Hahaha… I went to the Picture Yourself at Emerson Event and I was laughing my ass off at all the little freshmen.

I was the only one there without a parent hahahaha, and I loved seeing the looks on their faces when they found out that I was a hispanic student from East LA with a GED and a crappy high school record (i did better in college and the arts) but still, they obsessed over AP classes etc…

I barely got my financial aid package this Friday since I was debating between Emerson and Lesley, Emerson gave me more, plus it was my number one choice… the dorky thing is though… even when I wasn’t sure I was coming… I bought like 2 Emerson Shirts, an Emerson Sweatshirt and put the Pendant on my wall… its legit … WEE!! Commuter student here I come!!

June 1st is the day the deposit is due … ooooo… you will probably hear from the waitlist 2 weeks after that while they tally…

we are lucky tho… 7000 applicants this year, 2000 letters of acceptance and waiting… i’m so joining face book group!

Keep in mind, Emerson accepts a higher percent of transfers than freshman. (64% of transfers vs. 38% of freshman) so unlike most colleges, transfers have a better chance with lower stats needed to get accepted.

Either way, many transfers gain more experience in a previous college than in high school. I did great in high school… graduated top of my class, full of ECs, but with no experience in the world of broadcast journalism. I highly doubt I would have gained admission as a senior (in 2007.) I busted my butt though in college… so it is no small feat to gain admission into such a competitive school as a transfer as crewmom implies. congrats to everyone and I can’t wait to meet all of you!

leisha09- I never implied or said it was easy or a “small feat” to be accepted as a transfer. I simply stated the Emerson stats. Statistically a much higher percentage of transfers applicants are accepted than freshman applicants.

I’m sorry if you felt that my stating that was insulting to transfers. No offensive was meant.

Congratulations and good luck to all!!

well whatever being said… thats interesting… lol a transfer happy college? How weird… especially since it is mainly workshop based ? Oh well =) How did you find out about the percentages?

College info and stats websites like College Board.
