Have you dropped your AP Courses yet?

Have you dropped your AP courses due to difficulty or work loads?

my friend dropped APUSH and I know a bunch who dropped AP art history.

Well, I haven't since I'm wasn't taking any anyways.

I haven't. but I am only taking 3 so.....

I'm in AP US History and AP English Language & Composition. I have a B+ in history and I believe an A in English; my history teacher says I'd be doing better if I would turn stuff in on time (I've only had 2 late assignments! And I got a 53/56 on the last test :) ) English is kind of weird, cause the teacher never gives anything back to us - we're 6 weeks into school and I haven't gotten one English assignment or score back yet. All I know is the grade.

But anyways, I like my AP classes, and they're somewhat more difficult than honors, I guess. (I love writing, but I DON'T like the essays we have to write!!) Next year, as a senior, I plan to take four AP classes: Environmental Science, Government, Calc, and Lit & Comp.

I HAD to drop AP English! It's the hardest class at our school and I wanted an AP so I chose it. However I hadn't taken Expository Writing so I was very unprepared. It was the best choice because I would've ended up failing that class and not graduating, defeating the entire purpose in the first place.

I'm considering dropping AP English Lit. I have an A in it (yeah, so why would I drop it?) but I really don't understand anything. Iwent from honors to AP, and the honors teacher didn't teach us anything the AP students learned, thus my friend and I are completely lost right now. Everytime we speak, we have 8 kids jump down our throats on how our analysis is completely wrong. I talked to the teacher (I know her really well - her son was a good friend of my older brother's, and I had her for sophomore honors) and she said to push through and keep asking questions because the class is full of a bunch of ***holes who just want to prove they're better than everyone else, even if they have no idea what is going on (which she suspects a few of them are doing).

AP Gov't...this is the easiest AP class. The material isn't hard. The teacher we have STINKS. We started school Aug. 29th...we had a summer assignment due...he hasn't even looked at them. He hates me. He has graded everyone's test (the first test, mind you) but mine. Whenever he sees me he says "oh yeah, I need to get around to that someday." He never returns homework. There was a mix-up in the bookroom, only 9 of the 16 needed supplemental reading books were bought - he kept assigning homework in it, regardless that 6 of us didn't have the book. Funny enough, he had four extra books for people to use, and I later found out, photocopied the reading for the last person - he told me to go find someone who had it and ask to borrow it. Needless to say, since everyone would need it that night, I flunked 2 quizzes. He purposely skips over me if I ever raise my hand (I sit right infront of him - he assigned seats).

Funny, I'm pulling the lowest grade in Euro History (C+), but that's the class I refuse to drop out of everything because I really do love it, it's just tough.

I have NOT dropped any AP classes yet and I don't plan on doing so since I only have 2.

No, I have not. I have 4 and 2 of them are very easy - one of which - APBIO - I have a pretty solid background. In English, I barely notice that I DO have work to do.

My history class gives a steady amount of similar work weekly and it's manageable. The tests are predictable and I'm quite familiar with writing essays.

My math class gives a section of a chapter daily and it's fine.

I recently added an AP... =D

i wanted to drop ap physics. so hard!!! but its too late

I have 4 APs: English Lit, Gov't., Calc I, and Chemistry. I'll probably drop English because it's too boring.

I took AP US History last year (I ended up getting a 4/5 on the AP exam) and this year I'm taking AP English and AP Spanish...I think English is in the bag for me, but Spanish seems really tough so far, and I hear that all the Seniors last year flunked the AP exam.

I'm sure I'll stick with the class, but I am unsure of whether or not I'll bother paying $80 to take an AP exam that I'll probably fail.

Word of advice: Do NOT drop an AP English course. The class is not in the least difficult, seriously, you all talk about "not knowing anything," but as long as you know how to write (which, unless you are using type-by-talk, you all obviously do) and hand your assignments in on time you'll do fine.

I'm only taking two, so I have no right to complain.

But, I am taking the equivalent of Physics C: Mechanics and BC Calculus at the local university, not community college. The Calculus I can handle as I recently made a 108 on the second exam. But, the Physics is killer. I never realized how emotional I can be or how I behave under pressure until I took this course.

I will NOT drop any of these.

i guess i "dropped" USH, but i never even got it because there wasnt enough room for me and i already have two APs (calc and comp sci) and since my school is all honors classes, they usually dont let u take more than 2 aps. but i know i definitely would have dropped AP USH... its the same teacher that i have for honors USH, and she is already pretty hard and there's lots of HW in this class... so i can only imagine...

me + history dont go well together
i mean i like it, its interesting... but... i dunno. math rocks!!!!!!!

well no i don't intend to
AP gov is like just a lot of work. He just assigns reading and reading. uhh too much. but i like debating in class so i'm gonna keep it and prove it myself.
AP euro? the easiest AP or college level after multivariable calculus. Just read the textbook the day before and i set the curve. :) not to be arrogant or anything but i still love that class and love discussing history in class.
AP PHysics C? this is kicking my butt. I got my first B in science. The tests aren't hard it's just that i assume to many weird stuff which gets me wrong. the teacher says it's probably b/c i'm sort of Aristotlian(sp?) but we'll see.
Multivariable calculus? the easiest class i ever had. i sleep or do other things in class and study the day before. it is surprisingly easier than AP Calc BC.
I don't plan on dropping anything but i think gov is like a C or C+ right now. Physics i will make an A!

AP Latin III (Poetry) and AP Lit & Comp

B and A, no plans to drop. Lit and Comp is really easy at my school, though.

No, I don't plan on dropping anything...Somehow, I'm surviving on 5-6 hours of sleep per night with almost all As in my four AP classes (Lang. & Comp., Spanish V, U.S. History II, and Bio.)...

AP Macro: Getting a B+ which is like a 91 percent in my school. 93 is an A for Social Studies. RAWR! I really really want to get an A in it for the semester.
AP Lit: Easy. Been getting A's on all the papers but one (which I got a solid B on, but not a big deal since we've had soo many) Research paper is coming up so that'll be an easy, HUGE grade
AP Euro: OMG. Amazingly easy.

My hardest classes are Spanish IV and Physics, both of which are not AP. Those are my only solid B's that I have to raise in the next two weeks to either B+ or A-, preferably the latter, of course. EEK.
