Just curious.... I'm wondering if its standard to talk about your flaws in essays.

no .

A college essay should be bottom-line positive about the writer, who presumably is, after all, trying to give reasons to be admitted to college.

However, an honest discussion of a flaw can enhance the credibility of the essay and the impression it makes. Everyone has flaws; to face them, to discuss them honestly, to speak of efforts to address, correct, or work around them, shows insight and maturity.

Minor flaws but not big ones for example you can say you are shy, somewhat nerdy, bookish, etc..

I would say that talking about flaws would strengthen your essay if you connect them to your personal growth.

i could read it if you want. tyac.sg@gmail.com

it's not the content, its the writing that will make your flaws look good.

^ I agree with the above. In my essay I talked about my flaws in a fairly light and humorous tone... because that's just who I am. If you'd like me to read yours, I will.
