Am I the only one who not told anyone I'm leaving my schools for boarding and not told anyone and I won't even on my last day which soon.

I had to because of the amount of school I was missing for exams and interviews. My friends knew already though, have you not even told them?

They know I got I want to leave and I had my induction day they don’t know I got in a school and that this is my last month with them.

I’ve told maybe four friends, and of course my best friend.

This year, I only told my very best friend. This is because I made a huge deal of it last year, and even though I tried to be really clear about the slim chances, everybody was like, “Ohmygod you’re soooo smart, you’ll totally be accepted. Ohmygod, we can go shopping for new clothes together! Ohmygod I’m gonna miss you sooo much!” and then it was very awkward when the only place that accepted me didn’t give me enough financial aid. I’ve been very good about keeping it a secret this year, so if it doesn’t work out, it will just blow over, and if it does, THEN I can give the good news. Good luck everybody!

My whole grade knows, teachers, parents, yeah probably everyone. Word gets around pretty fast in latin american countries

I think once you have a certain place it’s a good idea to tell people. It’d be a shame to leave without saying goodbye!

@ballerina a very similar thing happened to a friend of mine, who was only applying to one school. She’d got a place a few years earlier, but turned it down so everyone thought it was certain. She didn’t tell many people but word got around. It was very awkward when she was waitlisted, but I think she has a place now :)

I don’t enjoy school anyways they will realize when I left. It so awkward my school counsellor and head found out I’m leaving and asked loads of questions. I didn’t tell anyone I applied for one school it one of the top in the UK I thought know way but as I applied halfway better chance. Good luck guys till March 10th I think.

^Which school? If you don’t mind saying :)

Not sure if I can say it small and all girls on a beautiful place and we do horseriding what schools did you apply to.

I was originally going to keep it hush-hush, but then my teachers started blabbering, and the other applicants in my school started asking me why I was absent all the time in October-November, so then I had to tell them, and they spread the word around to the other applicants, and then rumors started flying, so I had to tell my friends the true story—takes in deep breath

It was just a complete and utter mess!

Everyone seems to think I’ll get accepted though, no matter how much I stress the slim chances; are non-applicants that optimistic? It seems a tad too extreme.

I told 3 of my closest friends. I believe I told them when I finally sent my application in, so it was in the morning. By the afternoon at least a third of the grade knew. Everyone knows now.

@girlboarder just big schools, Westminster School and Wellington College for boarding and Habadasher Aske’s and NLCS as well :)

I told everyone that asked that i MIGHT be leaving.
So if I get accepted it means I’m going to leave!

Are your school in the Us

I hate when you tell someone who may or may not care, and then a few days/weeks/months later they’re like, “Oh hey, how did that…boarding school thing go. Did you get in?” But you can tell that they don’t really care and it sucks if you were rejected, or if they forgot the date and you have to say it’s this much time away but you know they don’t really care that much.

^ I usually ignore those people; they’re usually the ones who pull at my hair to get my attention. :O

Yes I have, and I think I´ll make some kind of goodbye party :D

@Mexstudent2013: That’s what’s going to happen to me as well (if-big if-I get into one of the schools!)

I’m having a joint leaving/birthday/finishing GCSEs party at the beginning of the summer :)
