my personal statement was an assignment for my creative writing class but i also sent poetry plus a short essay.

ah nice.

where is everybody from? Im from ohio a bit north of columbus

swarthmore, pa (twenty minutes from haverford, though i’m sure some of you looked at swarthmore too) ikillers, do you live near upper arlington? i have friends there.

Yah I looked at Swarthmore on my first trip… Yah I live in a town which is outside of the metro area where Upper Arlington but ya I know it pretty well. During the summers I’d drive down and have tennis clinics at the UA High school pretty much every morning. Any of your friends play tennis?

north jersey, although from the looks of last year’s threads, distance from haverford doesn’t seem to make much of a difference in when one receives a response

I feel like a bit of an outsider in this forum… am I the only one for whom humanities and sports hold little interest

ikillers, i love swarthmore’s campus but two blocks is not enough distance. haha. no, two soccer players, sorry.
elytron, i don’t think much, though time zones may affect things if it’s emailed.

i hope not

elytron, what do you want to major in/focus on?

ohio isn’t affected is it? i thought the time change took place in indiana.

“I imagine myself majoring in Chem or Bio, but who knows, I could have a change of heart and end up doing German.” Although in retrospect, German might not be my strongest language, all I know how to say is “Do not lean out of the gondola” and (do not ask why) “p∑nis pasta”

Yep we’re the same time. Not that far from the east coast, though the drive across Pennsylvania is what really kills us

[the state of things: nothing good comes out of pennsylvania Extreme Moderation](the state of things: nothing good comes out of pennsylvania | Extreme Moderation)

elytron, i took german. why is it that most german students can say random phrases but can’t conjugate basic verbs? I can ask for a plump chicken. (don’t ask)
ikillers, We drive from here to Wisconsin every other summer, 5 hours through pa always sucks.

From New York, But i go to boarding school in Pa…
its Quaker so they kinda love eachother.

Apparently in German restaurants “whole chicken” is somehow a euphemism for cow entrails… I think people arm themselves with whatever random words might come in handy

I’ve never seen pennsylvania so harshly criticized. ouch. i suppose pa and nj have a pretty tough rivalry going.

lol nice link… ya it’s definitely a chore to drive across.

I just tell people I live in a suburb of NYC, which is relatively true. Jersey’s actually really nice in the areas furthest from (you guessed it) Pennsylvania.

franco14, which school? is it near philly?
