I been looking for weeks, but can not really find a good Illustration school. I’ve looked at Academy of Art University in San Diego and it looks good but the $19,740 tuition really kills it for me. Also I looked at my local community collages, however I want a school that does not require me to take general education courses. I want to pursue a career in comics as an artist.Also I’am in 12th grade in Los Angeles, a school around in my state or neighboring ones would be helpful. So what would be best going to school like Academy of Art University or going to a community collage? Funny enough I’m not necessarily going after a degree, I just want to learn the skills needed for the comics industry.
Well if you don’t want the degree try taking some continuing education classes at a local Art School maybe? Another cheaper option would be Community College which I think is great if you’re still a little unsure of what you want to pursue.
Start at the CCC. Try to also take some business courses so you can handle your own business.
