Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with having a job while being a full-time student. I really need a job because I don't get any financial support from my family & college is really the first time that I've ever been on my own. I have a job interview on Saturday at a restuarant located closely to my college, it's practically walking distance, which is great since I don't have a car. I can always call a taxi when the weather gets bad. I'm really nervous about the job interview, even though I've had jobs in the past, and I believe I can handle having a job while being a full-time student. Thing is, I live an hour and a half from campus and I was wondering if anyone has had any problems keeping a job when holidays (winter break, Thanksgiving, spring break) come up because I don't want to go home over the holidays and discover that I don't have a job. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to ask during the interview what your boss’s expectation is for your working over the breaks and holidays. If they expect you to work over the breaks then you need to ask them how can your days be shifted.

I assume you live in the dorms and during the school breaks you have to leave school since the dorms are closed so you cannot work during those times.

See how they respond to figure out your next move.
