Having friends visit...

Some of my friends were thinking of coming up to visit me as a freshman next year. Supposing they come, there will be absolutely no problem with them staying with me, sitting in on some classes, etc?

im not going to princeton next year...but i'd like to know too. would they just squeeze into my cubicle of a double room?

as long as you can fit em, you should have no problems.

you should check it with your roomates first though. just to be nice. :o)

haha of course but im thinking more during the schoolyear, not breaks...they can sit in classes?

Pretty much im wondering why people can sit for free in classes we pay thousands for...

because they can't do it every day (or every day or even once a week) like we do ;) nor do they have to suffer through the exams, papers, etc. that will get us the grades that will get us into (hopefully) excellent grad programs or (hopefully) give us great career opportunities. So yeah, there's some benefit to actually attending the university, hehe.

but education be damned right? no one goes to princeton to learn anything, nooo...

That wasn't the point of my post. In fact, that would have been supporting his claim. Obviously if someone did come and sit on on the classes often, they'd be getting the same education as we...and thus the entire point of a Princeton education and my post would be gone. Thanks, though. Sarcasm never goes unappreciated on this end :)

oh thats right, i heard through the grapevine that a Princeton degree carries some value. wait maybe im wrong tho. sigh.

There are no "house rules" really -- you can really have anybody you want over, so long as your roommates are cool with it (and sometimes even if they're not, if they don't complain to an RA). Your friends should have no problem attending a large lecture or two, but I wouldn't recommend taking them to a precept or seminar...
