When I take the Reading portion of the test, I think that the test makers are insane for making us read 4 passages and answer 40 questions in 35 minutes. When I try my best, I can read a passage and answer its questions in 10-11 minutes, which leaves 3-4 minutes for the last passage.

How can I answer all the questions within 35 minutes?

Do you read the passage then do the questions?

If yes, then tell me how much time you spend on your reading and how much answering the questions. Also, when you answer the questions, do you have to go back and look at the passage often? I just want to know if the problem is your reading speed or if you are answering the questions too slow. I have different advices for each type of person.

By the way, try to limit yourself to 3 1/2 minutes for reading and 4 1/2 minutes answering the questions. This is what I called the 3.5/4.5 rule. First, don’t do the whole section first. Do passage by passage. Once you get the speed and achieve the 3.5/4.5 rule, do the whole section.

I completely read the whole passage and do the questions. I do the questions fairly quickly, and I am a moderately fast reader, so maybe that helps?
