Hayden Dorm

I was wondering, is it possible to get a low cost suite in Hayden where you have 2 people in one room and 2 people in another with an adjoining bathroom? Or is the only low-cost option a triple? Thanks for the help. Don't know very much about housing and I'm trying to get as much info as possible before housing forms are sent out @ the end of the month. :)

"Room and suite types

Double rooms with 2 persons per room
Triple suites with 3 bedrooms and 1 person per room
Quad suites with 2 bedrooms and 2 persons per room
Quint suites with 2 bedrooms and 2 person in one room and 3 person in the other room
Low Cost Triples: somewhat smaller triples with 3 persons per room"

If you want to compare costs, I’ve been using this:

http://www.nyu.edu/content/dam/nyu/resLifeHousServ/documents/09Guide.pdf

scroll down to page 38/39 and there’s a chart comparing amenities, sizes, and price.

Thank you so much!! So I’m assuming that a quad suite would not be considered low-cost? Or would it?

Only a low-cost triple is considered to be a low-cost room. So, no.

Okay. Thank you for the help

Also just a side note - low-cost triples in Hayden are known to be massive. Plenty of space for three people. In Rubin low-cost triples are known to be cramped and frustrating (they usually have to bunk two of the beds). They’re usually just a double with three beds - hating your roommates and never wanting to be home all year isn’t worth the money you save (I’m speaking generally, but still). So yeah, Hayden is the way to go for LCTs.

Yeah, I definitely want Hayden! So that’s good to know :)

If you want Hayden, you need to submit your completed housing application and survey asap since Hayden is very popular, especially among ED students (traditionally). Though Founders may have pulled some of the pool away from Hayden.

Also, read my post in “NYU Dorms” thread on this page.
