Hazing Experiences!!

Hey there, I am not particularly interested in a frat but I'm bored so lets hear some real life hazing stories! I'm gonna be a freshman in college next year and I'd like to hear what goes down in real life rather than the movies

Please Share!! xD

^Not much. Frats and Sororities have to be extremely careful about hazing now, with all the laws that are in effect.

^^^^LMAO, trust me there is PLENTY of hazing that goes on regardless of what laws are in place.

shaved my head for the soccer team

While pledging my sorority at my former college, I was dreadfully forced into doing community service and helping my fellow…people.

It was horrible.

Sororities haze? Haha. Sure.

It is extremely prevelant in frat life. I go to a school w/ a vibrant greek atmosphere, and was personally “hazed.” If you could call it that. Its more bonding than anything - and one that gets tedious at times. The point of it is you’re supposed to rally together as a pledge class and it is pretty effective. It was a good experience. I go to a small school, however, and I hear they have it worst up at the big campuses.

I had a friend in one of my math classes freshman year who was pledging for a frat on campus, they host the “freshman hunt”. Basically his brothers had a copy of his class schedule and he had to attempt to evade them by wearing a disguise. Pretty hilarious actually, glad I never rushed.

My roommate is in a sorority/pledging and they get a little hazing.

Hazing is forbidden for a reason. Colleges need to exemplarly punish those who do it. It’s a sometimes deadly combination of peer pressure, new surroundings, first time out-of-home life, willingness to be accepted in a group, binge drinking and uncontrolled upperclassmen.

HisGraceFillsMe is partially right when it comes to how severely schools punish hazing now (with the note that we’re talking about dangerous hazing - no one cares that you had to embarrass yourself in front of everyone in your frat) and it depends very much on what state you’re in.

California, especially, has the strictest anti-hazing laws in the country, making the students, frat, AND the school very liable for any dangerous hazing.
