It's from 1 - 4 at the Northwest African American Museum. In addition to some HBCU's there will be a number of Pacific NW colleges represented. There will be application and financial aid assistance and free admission to the museum itself.

The national college fair will be in Seattle 10/31 and 11/1 at the convention center.

Glad to see the changing times in the Great Northwest. I remember the days when the HBCU network gave the area little if any attention. Rev. McKinney at Mount Zion in Seattle was essentially THE HBCU representative/spokesperson for the entire region.

Minority enrollment is also up at state universities.

Lake, some of the people involved in this fair have been at it for years-one of them was talking about Rev. McKinney and Zion, in fact. They had the fair up at Seattle Central CC for several years after a hiatus but it was much better attended at NAAM. D added two more schools to her list-another HBCU and one of the state directionals AND decided to join a college tour this spring. It was worth our time.

At one time a running back for the Seahawks was helpful to students interested in Fisk, his alma mater. But Fisk wasn’t very popular with a female or two I knew back in the day because Fisk was about 75% women at the time. She returned to Seattle and abandoned Fisk after her freshman year. The preponderance of females just didn’t suit her.

Things sound promising for your daughter. Good luck.
