What are the most telltale signs of a freshman on campus? Just curious.

They need at least 10 tries and/or help to open their mailboxes.

The campus map sticking out of their pocket the first few days.
Bring their books to every class the first few days.(most classes do NOT need to have the book in class--it's not like HS where you spend half of the time reading out loud)

Other than that...not much.

Eating campus food every day.

they walk in big groups EVERYWHERE the first few weeks.

deer in the headlights

also being lost in the dining halls. and having trouble holding a tray of food steady.

There's no shame in looking like a freshman when you are one.

Trying to act cool.

Bragging to their friends about how they blacked out after 2 beers.

wearing a lanyard with their dorm key and student ID.

walking towards the freshman dorms (100% accurate).

why are people so worried about "looking like a freshman"? It's not high school. I never found that people particularly cared how old I was like hs kids do. My friends range from ages 18-25 pretty much. It's not really a big deal though, except that some of them can buy alcohol while others can't.

yeah, why do you care? I don't think anyone will "can" you. hahaha

Most freshman have this distinct air about them... I can't explain it, it's just there.

They're way too enthusiastic. About everything.

First semester, at least. Typically by second semester they've calmed down a bit.

A lanyard.....what's wrong with that? How's that freshman-ish?

they try to meet people
