Anyone how has read my posts on the Ivy League threads might me surprised to find that I have decided on EMory. I don;t want to say that I went to the highest bidder but basically thats what happened. EMory is a great a school, frankly better (for me) than any of the Ivies. I'm very excited about my future school. For all of you about to get you decisions remembere Ivies arenm't the be all and end all.

Emory is wonderful (even good weather!) and I'm glad you made the right choice for yourself! Let us know how it goes.

Congrats, Emory is a great school. But Emory doesn't really have good weather, it gets cold in december, january, and febuary, but it is better than the North.

SEW:

I too am going to not go Ivy. I relaze I fit better at the LACs I applied to. And, you know what?! My favorite LAC is less highly ranked than many of the ones I was accepted to already--I have not heard from this particular college so I'm a little on edge. Oh well.

Congrats on Emory. It is an amazing school, and if you like it better--more power to ya. :)

IB

PS--Atlanta weather is definately better than the rain in Washington. I'm always soaked, even if I use an umbrella.

Was it a matter of merit money, becuase most ivy decisions aren't even out. Even those of us with likel;y letters aren't daring call ourselves in.

Congratulations! I'm a part of the Emory Class of 2010, too. I applied ED 1 though...and I'm insanely excited about this upcoming fall!

suze: Yes while merit money was a definate factor, I wouldn't go to Emory if I didn't also think it was the right place for me. Frankly I don't think I'm Ivy material, Emory seems a lot more laid back. A great balance of hard work and funnot to mention the proximity to a great cuty like Atlanata. BTW, I got into Yale early and recieved no financial aid, basically telling my Princeton and Harvard will do the same. Emory is awesome and I am really excited about going, I'm almost glad I didn't get the fin aid from Yale because I think the name was distracting me from the lack of substance in the areas I was interested in. Even if my parents won the lottery tomorrow I think I would still go to Emory because its just that great a school.
DayDreamBeliever: I'll see ya there :)

Emory is a great school, and other than name recognition, it has little to envy the Ivies in undergrad experience.
