It's something like $250 a quarter, I believe.

OMG, roflkeke said its not free, you didn't even read his prior post.

aah I found the deadline page...I think it's because I typed in "health insurance waiver" instead of "SHIP" completely forgot it was called SHIP...

Here's the official page for reference:
http://studenthealth.ucsd.edu/content/insurance/shipwaiver.aspx?nav=42

wELL IT'S NOT FREE BUT 246/QUARTER IS BETTER THAN WHAT IM CURRENTLY GETTING

what the hell is wrong with you

^
hahahahahaha

For the question on the form that said:

"If HMO or POS, location of Primary Care Physician"

Well, like some people, I don't have HMO or POS (I have something else), so I just left that question blank. When I clicked submit....the form showed an error and said that I can't leave that box blank. ***?

I ended up just putting in the box "Not HMO, Not POS" ... because I'm not supposed to be answering that question.

What did any of you in this situation do...?

It's kinda odd that it doesnt let you leave the box blank considering it says "If"

yea i had the same problem as mark, thats why i still havent submitted the form.

Have you contacted the department and made an inquiry? That should have been your first step.

Yeah. I sent an email, so I should be receiving an answer tomorrow or so.

what about be an advantage of using ur own HMO instead of SHIP?

My health care plan, while not super, covers more than UCSD's plan. UCSD just has a bare essential it seems. Most health care plans supplied are better than what UCSD does.

Nothing beats universal health care though...

Okay, I got a reply from the Health Insurance office at UCSD. They said what I did is fine... Hope that helps for others.

hahaha me too mylifeisover23
my mom and I were trying to figure it out...but didnt understand it but she was determined to have me waived..so we just did it and got through... hahaha ..gah hopefully they talk to the insurance co and figure out the info themselves...

ya, it's stupid i'm pretty sure i'm gonna be covered more than whatever the school has to offer..

I mean i just got my wisdom teeth removed and it cost about 2k, and it was practically covered by ONE of my parent's insurance, and free after both.
