I'll be entering this Fall as a Freshman!!
I had a question on the upcoming $1128 bill for Health Insurance... My family is about 100 miles from campus and I'm covered under their Health Insurance policy... Do I still need to use the school's Health clinics? Is it optional ?? Pros/Cons?? I suppose there is an Urgent Care facility near the University covered under their Health Insurance, but I'll check if I have options...

Check out if there is a waiver that you can sign because you are covered by your family's insurance. Or, check out which policy gives you better coverage. It is possible that the school's policy is better. One thing to watch for, though, if you opt for the school's policy-- that is, be certain that it covers you 12 months, and off campus, and not just for while you are in school (summertime, and vacations things can happen).

If you are covered by your parent's policy, you can waive the school's insurance. Go to the UHS (university health services) webpage to download or fill out the waiver form.

However, there is a standard fee for all students that covers health services at the 'infirmary', for lack of a better word.
