Health Sciences Electives/Chm2045

Im a Health Science major going into my freshmen year and I'm taking abnormal psych, good life, chem 1, and contemporary moral issues. I really dont know if I want to take contemporary moral issues, are there any other electives that are more geared towards "pre-med" students? Also on a side note Ive heard chem 1 is extremely difficult at UF, I took AP chem; passed the class, but didn't pass the test, should I take intro to chm? or is that a waist of time.

I am also a Health Science major and I am taking an Intro to Health Professions class. It’s a class where many different people with different jobs come in and talk about what they do. It seems like an interesting class if you want to know about more health careers out there.
It’s HSC 2000 if you’re interested.

There’s a class called Exceptional People in School and Society (EEX 3093) and I’ve heard it’s really interesting and fun. I am also a Health Science major and I think it would be good elective to take.

I’m taking EEX 3093 also! :)

If you’re pre-med, there’s a class called Introduction to Medical Professions that may interest you (MDU 4003). It’s a 4000-level class, which are generally taken by juniors/seniors, but there are no pre-reqs, so if you’re interested in medicine, take it at some point (maybe not your first semester). The nice thing about it is that if you pass it, you can take Physician Shadowing (MDU 4004), which will allow you to shadow a doctor for UF credits, and it goes on your class schedule, so it won’t interfere with other classes. I’m taking both my upcoming year (I’m a sophomore).

Don’t take CHM 1025…it’s a waste of time for only 2 credits, and it’s very hard. Since you passed AP Chem, if you passed the ChRA, just jump into CHM 2045. By no means will it be easy, but if you use Study Edge and work hard, you’ll at least pass. For a good grade, always go to lectures, take good notes, do practice exams, use Study Edge, and talk to the professor during office hours about any questions or concerns you have about a graded exam. Your 3 midterms will help you study for the final.
