My son is interested in Drexel's 3+3 BS/DPT program. How does the program work as far as classes and dorm living? Are the students in the program located strictly in Center City or do they take classes on the main campus and the Center City location? Are there dorms in Center City or do the freshman in this program stay in the same dorms as the rest of the freshman? Transportation between the two campuses?

I'm an '88 ChemE alum and obviously a lot has changed in the past 25 years.

Well, it took quite a few phone calls to get to the correct department, but I have my answer.

The freshman core classes are all offered on the University City campus, so freshman Health Science students live and attend classes with the rest of their freshman class.

Sophomore year, there are a few classes in Center City and a shuttle runs a continuous loop between the two campuses. For Junior & Senior years, the majority of classes are in Center City but most students opt to remain in West Philly for the campus facilities and student life.

I’m applying for the same program with Physical Therapy. My application was complete in November and I have not hear from them, it is now January. Does anyone know how long it will take? I used the VIP App they sent me. Thankyou

I called Drexel yesterday because I also applied with the VIP application and was wondering the same thing and they said that if you applied regular decision wether you applied with the vip app or the regular app that you wouldn’t hear until March 28th… :(

I can assure you that the info you got from the department is not the whole truth. Yes, Health Sciences students live on campus but even as freshmen they’re in and out of Center City on the shuttle for class. A lot of my friends went through that last year. Not as much in CC as the nurses, but still there.
