Im really getting ****ed. They’ve had all of my papers since late august. I have a 1320 SAT and 4.7 Weighted GPA and have still not received a decision. Could it be that they have my paper at the bottom of the pile?

^That’s really abnormal-especially with that GPA. I’m still dead set on UCF, but I will admit, I’m not liking admissions right now. You should be in. Somethings not adding up here.

Hang in there. I know you think you have been waiting a long time but they didn’t even start looking at apps until mid Sept. I understand how you are feeling, but remember it’s only the first part of Oct. and they have literally thousands of applications to go thru. Unless you feel something is missing from your file then calling and emailing will not help either. The decision to be accepted is not made by one individual.

It won’t be much longer. Even if not accepted, you will not be denied. They will defer until mid semester grades/SAT scores come out. And they don’t care about your quarter grades, trust me. Been there done that.

my D is not a good test taker and will not be able to tak the ACT again she took it 4 times and her highest is a 25 which should be high enough for summer witha 3.8 weigthed GPA that is on UCF standads

@beachy you got in quicker because your stats are so high- my D had her transcript there on 9/20 and they are still making a decision for summer- she has 25 act and 3.8 weighted uCF frustrating

I know they started looking at apps recently. My problem is that people with MUCH lowers stats who applied much after me have already been accepted

I have the exact same sat as you and still dont have a descision either

To those who have already been accepted:

When they changed your admission status to accepted, did you immediately receive an email saying so? Or did it update first on your myucf?

And on the myucf site, where did it say it? Like on the ‘application status’ page did it just say like “congratulations you have been accepted!”?

Updated first, then emailed later the same day. And it’s on the application status page.

I know your daughter should be set, but if they got her transcripts on the 20th, well…that’s hardly three weeks. There seems to be people here who had things all in my august, including transcripts, and still have yet to hear back. Don’t worry, we all just need to be patient. I myself had everything in by august 2nd, with low stats, so we’re all feeling anxious. My twin brother was just accepted to western Michigan, but we’re really waiting to hear from ucf.

they said it shoudl be two weeks from the 5th whent hey recalclated her GPA- Ill wait and then call or email the admissions counselor that I have been corresponding with- I hope they get the same gpa we did- we give honors and extra .5 so a B is 3.5 and A is 4.5 Is that how you understand it?

Yes, honors .5, AP and Dual enroll 1. Only use academic courses, no PE or electives. We get 4.1 with a 24 ACT so we are concerned. She took the SAT Oct 1 and will know scores in a week. She is also signed up for it in Nov. Some kids do better on ACT and some on SAT. We shall see. She has never been a good tester. I am worried that she will be red flagged because the score doesn’t match the gpa. She has a very big leadership position at school and other great EC’s. but I know that UCF doesn’t care as much about all of that. I asked her to call and verify the gpa but she won’t. I will not call the office because they don’t like when parents call for their kids. I know that you have a “relationship” with one so that would be different. We will be patient.

How do you know they’re recalculating her GPA ?

i emailed a certain officer that i have been emailing for two years since my son is a sophmore and we met her there- she told me that her gpa was being processed on 10/5 i just checked no change!!!

@helpful mom-- my D has 25 and 3.8 but she will not retake the act she took it in sept and got a 20

Gailbeth - my son is in a similar position. 4.0 GPA but his highest score on ACT was a 23. He retook in September and got a 22!!! He is going to try one more time on October 22nd.

Jena-same with my brother. Good GPA, took the ACT and got a 23. Then he took it a second time, and got a 22, though he didn’t study at all, so I suppose that’s why it dropped. My highest was a 22, may take it again in december. I suggest an ACT book, and if anything, barrons, because they questions in it are much harder then what you’ll see on the ACT.

Jenas62- Has your son been accepted yet? They shoudl get in for summer!!! If we dont hear by monday- Ill have my D email admissions. It prob means that they are dereeing them but I amnot sure if they actually get a status change that they are defrerred??? Has anuyone been deferred for summer yet?

My D’s stats
1340 m and r
620 writing
My guess is admission is awaiting for new test scores. My D application wal also early Aug.
She did get in USF and FGC

You do get an update if you’re defered. It says something along the lines of, “You are being defered” so on, and so forth. At that point, then your child should try for the ACT/SAT one more time, and keep on top of their first semester grades.
