sheet. maybe i shoulda went for summer

I applied for summer, but am nervous and don’t think I will get in :/

Has anyone seen the update on their myucf account? It mentions something about an update from the 23-25 of this month, and certain things will be updated. One it mention was the student self thing, which as we all know, basically leads us to our application status change. My twin brother thinks this could possibly be some kind of heads up that some status updates are going out that day. Then again, we could be completely wrong. Either way, I suggest keeping your eyes open come the end of this week, we should begin hearing back next week. Best of luck to everyone, all of you are completely safe, trust me:)

Write fluidity, I just don’t feel that confident bc a lot of people have applied for summer and from what I’ve seen in previous years for summer people that have like a 3.7 or higher are the people that get in, so I don’t think I will in all honesty.

Well if you don’t think you’re in, I suppose my chances are slim, considering I have a 22 ACT and average/mediocre GPA. I’m not going to give up home, because I have seen one person that was accepted for for last year, with almost identical stats. you need to be optimistic. I’d love nothing more then to just say, ‘if these people are worried, then I should just give up, because if they don’t get in, how can I?’ But you need to consider that it’s not just stats they look at-it’s important, but there’ s other things. Like if you were involved in music, or sport. If you had a job, or a lot of community service hours, or faced a problem that caused your grades to drop. Don’t lose hope, because I believe all of you who have replied to this thread, based on stats, will be accepted. Hopefully I’m accepted with you, but my hope is quickly fading

Yeah but that one person that you said is one out of thousands ya know

hey write have you considered applying to usf fau or even unf? there are multiple schools in florida that would take you

just as backup schools to get you outta your state?

Write, you said you think decisions will be coming out this weekend bc of maintenance on the web site?

No, I didn’t consider any of them. I looked, of course, but I just don’t have any kind of interest in them. I know someone who went to USF, and he said it’s a huge commuter school. I can’t be at a commuter school, with everyone gone on weekends. Also, I’m choosing ucf for multiple reasons. It’s perfect for me. All the other schools you mentioned just aren’t what I’m looking for at all, and I won’t shell out an obnoxious amount of money to be at a school I don’t want to be at. People say to just ‘transfer’ to ucf after two years. Why would you transfer when you’ve been at a particular school for two years already, already dug your roots in, made friends? It’s just not worth it. UCF is both mine and my twin brothers only option.

When will we hear back. It’s getting near october

Like I said earlier, we should be hearing back soon. I think that they may start coming out early next week, maybe even over the weekend. They’re taking their time, and I’m glad. It’s making me crazy, yes, but if that means they’re considering everything, I’m glad. Just try and be patient, and next thing you know, you’ll hear back.

I wonder if the maintenance is for app status’

That’s what my brother and I think. We could be completly wrong, but I’m going to check at six tomorrow night (friday) while at work, because that’s when the update is supposed to start. I just wish to know if they will reject me or defer me. I honestly don’t see myself as being accepted off the bat, because I’m not as competitive as everyone else. Beyond that, make sure to start checking daily, starting tomorrow. They can update any time of that day. It’s much easier if you have a phone with the ability to browse the internet, but I suggest checking every morning and night.

I can do that and you applied for summer, so we should know very soon as we are early applicants.

I’ll just try and be patient, and busy myself with work and school work, and friends. Continuing to stress and be anxious about it won’t make the matter any easier.

Very true, but I’m hoping we get an answer this weekend. It seems like the right time with maintenance and the weekend coming up

Agreed. I almost feel as though they’ve been intently looking at things this past week, and that maybe before they all head home for the weekend, they may send some desisions out. I’ve already warned all my friends ahead of time that if they hear me scream, it’s a good thing:) It’s just so difficult, because everyday, my AP psychology teacher asks if I’ve heard back yet. He’s a university of florida graduate (Not the slightest clue how he ended up here in illinois) and is really rooting for me to be accepted. Everytime I have no walk into the classroom, and say, “Not yet”, before he even asks.

Hopefully it’s this weekend. UCF received all my stuff last Thursday, so hopefully they will give me a decision regardless of what it is.

I’m not sure when exactly they recieve mine. I had sent my application and ACT score on august 17, and had sent my transcript (which was the last bit they needed-and obviously the most important) on september first or second, fairly sure the second. Then I continued to look on myucf account to see if they recieved it, but I wasn’t even looking in the correct place. I only checked a week and a half ago, correctly, and saw that they had everything. So I can’t say exactly when they recieved it, but they probably got it within a week.
