Write,
You are famous! I hope you shared your awards with UCF on your application!!!

I’m not famous! Lol. It was one, tiny, little award:) It wasn’t much of a thing, I’m just surprised they still have it up.

I’ve been off these boards for a while and I guess that
based on your recent messages, you still haven’t been accepted.
A normal person would probable say; “I’m so sorry”, but
I won’t! What I would like to say is; get off these boards, pay the
late penalty fee, get some sleep and retake the SAT tomorrow and I am sure that you can improve your SAT scores and improve your chances @ admission. Also,
start studying every day and sign-up for December SAT test date. I am certain that your scores will increase. All your messages to the admissions committee and whining here ain’t going to change a thing in the eyes of the admission committee.
If you really want to gain admission to UCF, then improve your chances by improving your scores ! Good Luck

I have 1030 SAT, 3.4 recalculated GPA with USF, 240 services hours, multiple honor classes and APs and few college classes at community college. I applied July 1st still haven’t heard back, what are my chances of getting in for summer 2012?

My daughter applied Aug. 14th and still haven’t hear from admissions. We emailed twice and called once but we just receive the generic responses. This is so nerveracking!! Her test scores and grades are not top of the line. However, she plate is very full, which I thought they would take in consideration. Due to her hectic cheerleading schedule and community service some her grades suffered and the lack of time to study for the SAT and ACT scores also suffered.

Also, the first two years of high school she attended a school in NC that didn’t offer AP or Dual enrollment until your Junior year. So, all her classes her freshman and sophomore years were all Honors. Then went we moved to FL (Junior and Senior years) she began taking AP and DE classes (all classes her Junior/Senior years were all AP or DE except for 3 which were Dance, Law and Photo).

Here are her stats:
3.7 weighted (at application time) 4.04 (after first record card)
3.1 unweighted " " 3.6 " "
ACT 22 (daughter didn’t like and will not take again)
SAT 1050/1580 (took in March, Oct and will take in Dec)
Tutors 2nd graders for reading comprehension on tuesdays after school (2 years)
Volunteers at the public library thursdays after school (2 years)
Four years of Varsity Cheerleading (conference, regional, state and National champions)
Red Cross Lifeguard (certified for 3 years and also certified in AED,infant, child and adult CPR)
President of church youth group
National Honor Society

She already received her acceptance letter for UWF. She is decided to apply to USF too but she didn’t apply there until the middle of Sept and we are waiting for a response from them too.

I have already been accepted and using UCF as a back-up, but from what I have seen and
read, I personally believe that your kids SAT score of 1580 is below average and with this score, he will not get admitted. I’d STRONGLY suggest that you sign him up for the December test ( I believe you still have time ).
Also, all the EC’s in the world, submitting the greatest essay and a million letters of recommendation won’t get one admitted without a good GPA & SAT scores.
Princeton Review, Test Masters and several online classes helped me prepare for the SAT!
The courses are costly, but worth it.

I don’t take the SAT, I take the ACT. Also, unless defered, I won’t take take it again. It’s coming out of MY pocket, not my parents. Some of us need to pay for our own things, and I see no motive in taking it if I’m rejected. Also, I would appreciate if you didn’t assume I was ‘whining’. You have NO idea, the things I’ve been through, so therefore you have no right to say such a thing. If these admission officers even knew half of what has happened to me, I think they may, in some small way, understand. Like I said, someone of us don’t have the life of living large. Some of us have been working sense our freshmen year, over 30 hours a week, paying gas, car insurance, cell phone bill, electricity, water, etc. Over the course of these months, I have also been paying close attention to your posts, and you know what? Someone needs to say is. You are are obtuse, inconsiderate, arrogant, spoiled brat who needs to be welcomed to the real world, where you fall on your ass with such an attitude. Now, it’s best to leave it at that.

Have a wonderful day.

holy **** second that

those worried about getting into usf shouldnt be…espeacially for summer

Oh, by the way, cnmpsyd, it’s ‘isn’t’, Not ‘aint’.

Hi-
In an awkward, off the wall way, this guy is correct and unfortunately it is all
a numbers game. Question, what do you mean that you do not take the SAT
but rather you take the ACT ?

I ment that I take the ACT-in the area I’m located, we take the ACT. My friend took the SAT last year, and they offer it about one every three months, and she had to drive two and a half hours away to take it. Also, I’m much more familiar with the format of the ACT, and it’s what I’m grown accustomed to. If you agree, that’s okay. However, I seek no advice from him, because of the person he is. If you check his posts, you will notice that he has a superior attitude to everyone, and believes himself to be better, more intelligent, etc. I want no contact with such an individual.

Are there any guarantees admissions for tranfer students? Has anyone heard of a transfer being admitted yet?

Haha okay dude 2012
