Does anyone know when the Diversity Open House weekend will mail back decisions?

is this invitation for the class of 08? when was the application due? sorry, i'm a minority very interested in amherst (visited 3 times) but never received an application for this open house

The Diversity Open house is basically a program in which students who are interested in Amherst college apply to and if accepted, the 200 students that are selected get to spend the weekends at Amherst. Learning alot of different aspects on the college and basically having a good time. Amherst will fund all cost to attend the program even transportation. This basically alleviates the hesitation in applying. A lot more to be said but you already get the gist

The application deadline has passed. as it was Aug. 15th but I geuss theres always next year

Haven't heard yet from Amherst but I'm crossing my Fingers

Ekkkk! i didnt get in...

Im hoping a large reason was because my family is by no means low income and I guess they could tell when I wrote my parents were physicans..

Thats ok. I got into kenyons atleast!

how do you know? did they send you a letter saying you didn't get in

I haven't received anything yet...

I got a paper with all the dates on it and the schedule for the sept weekend. it says stuff like "be prepared to leave..." BUT I didn't get an acceptance letter, does this mean I got in??

found out today...i got a letter saying i was accepted and then a schedule from last year...so i don't know how it works.

oooo I only got a schedule :(( I will email her.

still have not received mine yet for the october session.
Getting annoyed

So Authentic, waiting is horrible. My daughter got accepted to the
Diversity Open House last year but she heard after many other people on line had. All the letters don't go out at once. She had a great time and was accepted early decision. She started classes on Tuesday and LOVES AMHERST!

I got a email today for acceptance.

lmpw, thats great. So wait your D started this year huh? I wish her good luck.

yes, she just finished her first week of classes.

just found out i got in today! yay!

except i have prior engagements planned for the 29th...I had assumed I wouldnt get into DW especially since i sent in my application on the 21th

Does anyone have a schedule that tells them when the events start on Saturday? I'm hoping if they're few, I may be able to fly in early sunday morning instead... =/

wen2hu, they didn't a schedule from last year? well, anyway i do have the schedule from last year but it's in my car and my mother has my car right now, so i'll let you know asap.

you own the car sgt?

LOL, cool!

other than that, my apprehension is annoying me

My D just opened e-mail sent from them yesterday and she got in for the Sept. 29th session, she is ecstatic!

Yay I got my email today!
I haven't received my letter yet but it was funny how on the email, it said "Congratulations, again,..." and I thought, again?! Lols.

Anyways, can anyone who went provide some insight/comments to the program? I'm sure the letter would explain things for me but I'm really excited to know right now!

Does anyone also know the admit rate? It seems kind of limited... how many invitations do they send out in the first place?

haha well her car is in the shop so yeah lol...
for wen2hu that asked about what's on saturday:
1. registration
2. tours
3. pizza dinner with host
4. a capella groups
5. general welcome (this is at 8:00 pm)
6. casual yet frank conversation with students
the night ends with evening activities so you're not really missing anything with admissions people or classes. however, i'd call the office of admissions to make sure because they said this is sort of tentative schedule.
