Heard from UCSD.......TODAY!!!!!!!!

I am admitted to "Undeclared" major while my first choice is Bioengineering: Biotechnology and my alternative major is Mechanical Engineering.
Anybody know what does the "Undeclared" mean?

p.s. My college is Thurgood Marshall, should I take any English writing class after transfer?!?!?!??

yea its ****ed up they put me into PRE-electrical engineering....but I got into Muir though...too bad I alredy submitted my SIR to UCLA lol

Wow, I didn't know people were still waiting. That’s just irresponsible.

Citan, according to the ranking, UCLA's electrical eng is better than that of UCSD. Also, SD put u in pre-major...So, i think UCLA may be a better choice for you!

Just wondering. Are all transfer engineering majors out at UCSD already? Just asking cause my website acceptance letter shows me as undeclared. Does this mean no engineering for me or that it's still pending?

It's interesting that Cal Tech is under Berkeley.

^^ it's more interesting that it's under GA Tech, UIUC and UMich

Please. Does anyone know if all engineering decisions are done by UCSD for transfers?

I think they are doing the secondary review.
I got "Undeclared" too i applied bioeng and mechanical eng

If that's true it's a relief cause i applied for mechanical also and thought all decisions were out already. Any word on when they are to be done cause i need to make a decision between ucla and ucsd pretty soon.

I sent a email to the admission office, and here is the reply:

Thank you for the email. Applicants who applied to impacted majors
will be notified directly by the department of their entrance into the
program or an alternate major. Unless, the alternate major is also an
impacted major, then the applicant must be qualified for the alternate
major as well. Otherwise, it will show up as undeclared.

Please contact Noemy Ellis at (858)534-6105 or email ess@soe.ucsd.edu
for questions regarding impacted majors in Engineering.

Please allow at least one week for us to update your file on your
coursework update/correction.

All the best
UCSD Undergraduate Admissions

Don't know when will they notify us.....

Is there anybody out there who applied to an engineering major and still has undeclared status? Updates on this?

Hi. I am going to be transferring to UCSD this fall and I'm currently looking for a place to stay. Please PM if interested in either looking for an apartment or have a room available.
