Hi all!
I had my Midyear report faxed to Harvard and Stanford last week.
Situation 1: Still no update from Harvard via the Applicant Status Portal thing that they have received it. I called in and received a blurred answer saying that I should basically just keep refreshing the page and eventually they will process that they’ve received it.
Situation 2: I’m waiting for an update on axess regarding whether or not it has been processed and received by Stanford. My sister is at Stanford and called in for me (I live abroad, time difference made it too hard for me to phone in myself). She told me that a nice woman answered her saying that they cannot confirm the receipt of the document and they don’t track it. Or something like that. However… The midyear report is a decisive (and required, right?) part of the application, so I can’t count on that information.
My main concern in both situations is that the admissions counselor responsible for my region will ultimately view my midyear report. It’s not too late, right? Are they still making decisions? The Harvard woman I spoke to on the phone mentioned they were processing transfer applicant files. Does that mean they’ve finished undergrad admissions? Also, there’s a pretty intimidating (haha) sentence on Stanford’s website saying they reserve the right to make an admissions decision without obtaining all necessary documents. At least they explicitly say it! I got the feeling it didn’t really matter to Harvard anymore.
My midyear report is really an essential part of my application, because my academic performance is my best yet. Is there any hope at all that it will be viewed?
Is anyone else struggling with this? What do you suggest?
Thaaaaaank you for reading and please do give your opinion and advice!
