Hearing from Cornell

Hey all! I applied to Cornell ED. I was just wondering about the process of getting your decision from Cornell...I've heard that decisions will be online, and people are speculating it will be on Dec. 9th. Anyway, will it just say online "Accepted" or "Rejected"? Does the decision come by e-mail, or do you have to check your application status and it will say it there? Will Cornell announce at some point when decisions will be out online?

for the online thing, you'll see a little button on your 'check application status' thing that says "your decision"

If you've been accepted, you'll see a nice fancy page that says "congratulations! You've been accepted to Cornell University!" If it's not so good news, you'll get the typical rejection letter.

That is going to be the most nerve-racking click of a mouse... I don't think I will be able to do it!

yeah, it was nerve-racking for me ... even though i knew my decision before hand!

Uhh, how? Do you have an inside source? :p

fall ilr transfer applicants can typically find out by phone. i did that.

I would never want to find out the decision over the phone, becuase if I were to get rejected I might curse off the person who I am talking to...

haha...jk

so whats the deal with e-mail??

i heard this thing about Columbia, how the people who got in had actually found out by e-mail the night before the decisions on the website... do the colleges send out their results individually?

i logged into the website to check my status and saw "congrats you have been accepted to CORNELL UNIVERSITY" and then it had a letter to me afterward. it was awesome :D

so..wut does a defer decision looks like

ok, who has the guts to CALL and ASK what date we can expect decisions on???

not meeeee

so..wut does a defer decision looks like

Dear Johnny Boy,
Get outa here - go on get! You aint eva' comin back here again.

"That is going to be the most nerve-racking click of a mouse... I don't think I will be able to do it!"

Hahaha, I'm nervous already.

Colorfulpig, I think that's more like the rejection message. The defer decision will probably look like

Dear Johnny,
We'd like you to wring your neck for a few more months while we decide if we should take you.

still nervous.......i want to end this soon
