Hi all, I am a heavyweight Canadian rower currently in my junior year of high school. I have maintained a 93% average since grade nine, and while I acknowledge that this is nothing out standing, I do not have any really low grades either (no grades below an A) and would probably rank within the top two or three percent of my class. Assuming that I do well on my SATs, say above 2200, and have potential (tall and lanky) what 2k erg would I need by the fall in order to be considered a viable recruit for the Ivies? Thanks!

Hi. If you are a male, I would say in the low-mid 6:20’s, but the faster the better of course. You may want to look at the Crash-B results from last two years and compare with college rosters to see where those guys are. If you think it’s realistic, I would shoot for getting your 2k where it needs to be by early August- that way you are on their radar for official visit invitations.

PS, I do notice now from your thread title that you are indeed, a male. :)

Thank you for the prompt reply…will do!

It will have to be 6:30 and below. If you can hit 6:10, the schools willing be calling you. Are you from ON or BC?

I am from ON
