Hedrick Hall

So I got my housing offer and I was places in a triple in Hedrick Hall. What is it like in there? Is the social life good or bad? Any other thingsI forgot too. And any advice living there?

Oh and when will we find out about our roommates?

Hedrick Hall is essentially equivalent to any of the other classical res halls (Sproul, Rieber), although the renovated Dykstra might be different. The only real difference it comes down to is location: Hedrick is the furthest from campus/classes, and you’ll have to walk up to the top of a hill.

In terms of noise level/having a social floor, those aspects are impossible to predict, and change every year according to RA, floor government, and residents.

The building itself is relatively new, as are all the classical res halls now. The rooms are small, but every res hall room is small anyways. The floor bathrooms are good, cleaning staff takes care of that every day. Nothing to complain about for Hedrick over than having to walk the most.

If roommate notifications for incoming students will be anything like it was three years ago, you will receive an email in August (first two weeks of August) telling you who your roommates are. You will have their phone numbers (maybe emails, too), if they consented to releasing it to you.

Thank you so much! You were such a big help!

I’m in the exact same situation as you are. Which options did you choose for the housing meal and payment plans and why?

LingHoLovesYou

For my meal plan I chose the 14p because I heard that any unused swipes go rollover. And also because I’m going to be close enough to home that I can come home for a nice home cooked meal, the other plans just didn’t fit in well with me I guess and I would rather pay a bit extra for food than have unused swipes go to waste.

And the payment plan I chose was the financial aid plan. I was thinking about choosing the quarterly one but when I saw the financial aid one had a lower initial payment I chose that one. I also chose it because my parents can’t pay 500 dollars on such a short notice but 200 dollars is doable.
