Like, I thought of doing that, but I’m too lazy to actually execute it. Haha where are you applying?!?

USC, Vanderbilt, and some safety schools in California.
I was going to apply to those + Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Georgetown, but now i’m not so sure anymore. what about you?

Is Psychology like a part of medicine?

And Northwestern, Michigan, JHU, CMU, Chicago, Michigan State (safety), and if I’m feeling lucky, MIT (only because the admit rate’s much higher for girls), and Penn. Haha but those are unlikely!

haha not exactly.

Psychology

I want to major in psych, then go to grad school for neuroscience. but those are all great schools!! I almost want to apply to U Chicago because of all those damn packets they send me lol.

Did you get the most recent like legit “life of the mind” book?! Hahaha

@Liv4physicz: Is Northwestern your number one?

Just Smile: Yes!!!

Mine too! Are you gonna apply to HPME? It’s pretty cutthroat, but if you got in, it’d be freaking wonderful.

@liv: you mean that really thick book? if so, YES! ahaha

Marine: They’re way overachieving in the recruiting department! That UChicago supplemental essay will be fun to write if it’s anything like this year’s “Find x” hahaha.

Just: I might! Is it like way harder to get into than just regular admission for general NU premed?

The only thing that worries me at all is writing the essays. Hopefully I can get them all out of the way this summer though…

4.
All I’m worried about is money and getting in.

Um…it fluctuates! Sometimes I’m crazy nervous and other times I don’t care. Most of the time I’m just really excited about everything though.

@liv4physicz: Yeah, HPME is super selective. I think they accept like 20 people a year out of 1000+ applicants. It’s a great program though. I’m debating on whether or not I’m going to apply. You have to have amazing stats and hospital volunteering and research projects…

I really have no clue what I’m going to write my essays about. All my essay ideas are quirky/funny, I have nothing serious. I’ve never really had to “overcome many obstacles”. -_-

Well, that’s okay, isn’t it? The essays are supposed to reflect who you are and if you’re funny and quirky, that’s totally fine. You shouldn’t try to be someone you’re not, and if you’ve never had to overcome a lot of obstacles, that’s totally cool.

I mean, I’m more of a serious, determined person myself and my humor leans more towards irony and sarcasm, so I’m not going to try and be quirky and funny like you. It just doesn’t come naturally to me!

Yeah, I just hope they don’t take my quirkiness as not being serious about my education or anything. I suppose if they’re really well written I should be okay.

We need more threads about the class of 2012!

I’m not that stressed out and fairly confident I can get into the schools I want.
